"...shall not be hurt by the second death" Revelation 2:11. Rev. 21:8 "...lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death". This has always led me to believe that there is a first death.

People can have an evil spirit, people can have a good spirit, after recieving Jesus as Savior, people can learn to have a HOLY spirit. The sword of the spirit (word of God that we should live by) is sharper than any two edged sword (is so meaningful) it can divide (differentiate) between the person's SOUL and the spirit of that person.
