From Mothers of Abused Children

140. People need to understand that Kim Basinger was/is protecting her daughter by disclosing and releasing that tape. That tape, when left on an answering machine, is perfecting and justifiably legal under the USC Title 18- 2510. Alec just got caught is is trying to cover up the fact that this is Federal and he is verbally abusive toward his young daughter. This is unacceptable. Without exposing him, the perpetrator, Alec, would be allowed to continue this type of behaviour or worse unchecked. These type parents (Alec) hide behind the court system, whose pendulum is swinging in the Father's Rights' Supremecist direction practicing Richard Garders' Junk Science, "Parental Alienation Therory," which is responsible for encouraging abusive parents to use their children as pawns and to terrorize both mother and child. We applaud Kim, in her courageous effort to show the world what Alec is like behind closed doors. It's the only way laws get changed and legislators begin believing that domestic violence exists and the children finally do receive protection. Women have to and must expose this. I, personally, admire Kim Basinger and I think Alec is and average man whom I enjoy. But a parent must never cross the line to speak that way to their child and having experienced and interviewed women who are experiencing the same, it's time that we "Break The Silence" for the sake of our children. Kudos to Ireland. It will get better.
And to the Family Court Judge: I can only hope you begin the healing process and go against legal pressure to follow the Father's Supremecy Group (Jeffrey Leving) and light a torch for battered women and abused children that can only spread like wildfire throught the United States and Give a Children a VOICE!
