It seems to me that if there is a bowel problem, you should clean the bowel. Taking oral cleanse products affects the entire body and THAT seems unnatural to me (let alone expensive). Having said that, I also question the effectiveness of colonics. I had one prior to a sigmoidoscopy and it was not all that effective. It's true that they are more comfortable than enemas but that's probably why they are not as effective. With an enema, you flush out solids immediately. With colonics you have to slowly dissolve the solids. So, bottom line - if a Bowel Cleanse is really needed, I would use enemas. They're quicker, cheaper, and I think, more effective. Whether Bowel Cleanses are necessary is another debate.
