Re: The body after death

I am in full agreement. The body is a temporary holding spot for the spirit. The spirit wants to be in it's spiritual home with God but the flesh holds it back because it has it's own whiney desires to be where it can only thrive...on earth.

But I wanted to say that even though I hate the traditional ways (and cost) of burial, some people seem to need their loves ones to be as close to normal in death as possible. Images of burning their loved ones with fire seems to some like torture or a sign of hatred. Sensitive people would not feel comfortable with that. I personally do not care one way or another if I was cremated but my loved ones would feel guilt because they look at me and the total package. (body and spirit) Of course that is because they have earthly mindsets and not spiritual ones. But out of respect for them, I choose not to make them unhappy. Of course I could do without a visual rememberance of me by people looking at a gravestone. That's not how I want to be remembered. There needs to be news ways of remembering the people we love and better ways to research one's heritage. Would love to hear ideas. 48124
