My views can only be christian views since I've never seriously studied other religions, but they vary wildly from most dogmatic christian views.

This body is no more than a vehicle for my spirit on this planet and preserving it after the ME is gone from it makes about as much sense as preserving each of our first automotive vehicles. What IS the point? I don't want this one back at the time of reserection, I want Him/God to give me a brand new perfect one.

The bible says "ashes to ashes and dust to dust" ... we're made out of dust and ashes. Embalming keeps you from going back to dust, so choose ashes, I don't think it matters. I've told my children to cremate this body.
