Hopefully, some of these sites will help you to identify your role as your mother's "supply" and assist you in taking the steps that you may wish to evolve from victim into Survivor. Unfortunately, your mother learned a long, long time ago how to threaten, humiliate, objectify, and dehumanize to feed her own needs. Her control issues are not your fault, nor are they your responsibility - she is a very angry, insecure human being and you are not the cause of her problems. You are, however, the focus of her needs and she will continue to feed her needs through you and your responses (or, lack of them). At this point, it may be prudent to speak to her through an attorney or via legal means (certified, return receipt letters that are copied in triplicate, etc.). Any communication that you have with her will be sufficient to feed her beast, whether it's a reminder of rent due, an angry letter outlining anything hurtful, or a phone message begging for a rational discussion.
When we're adults and addressing our victimization by a parent, it can be a very traumatic, emotional journey. Rest assured, you did nothing to deserve such abuse and there are steps that you can take to progress through your difficult journey in a rational, healthy manner. An abuse counselor will provide support, guidance, encouragement, and tools to help you take those steps.
Again, best wishes to you.
