I guess you could say that about so many things on CZ (being the "placebo" effect). One of the most powerful parts of alternative healing is the mind over body, so in essence, yes the placebo effect, so to speak, is at play with many therapies.

However, you cannot argue with the incredible dental visits people have. If you want some validation from some sort of "medical" community, then look for those posts.

There is no doubt also that many people have have quick and immediate relief in the areas of mouth sensitivity and tooth sensitivity, myself included. It was the very first thing I experienced with OP. I could never drink a glass of lemonade before. How is this so? I don't know. That is most definitely not in my head.

But you are also forgetting the unforeseen benefits of OP. The properties of oil itself. We are definitely absorbing some of these healthy properties, evidenced by the alleviation of some skin conditions. We have an entire forum at Keratosis Pilaris, a skin condition, that are experiencing some benefits from oil pulling for the first time in their life.

So, even though you are not experiencing any glaring health benefits, I strongly encourage you to continue, if only for your next dental visit. Perhaps that will be the motivation, and end result that will make you a believer.
