Re: anyone with children
I used to be a public school teacher in California. My credential was in Physical
Science with a supplemental in Mathematics and a master's degree in Computer Education. I taught junior high and high school for 3 1/2 years.
I believe there is a "conspiracy of mediocrity" in public schools. Here's how it works. As everyone knows, most youngsters don't like working to hard. If a teacher tries to push them by making them do homework and giving them good solid tests, which a student who refuses to work will do poorly on, then the student will complain to parents and school administrators that the teacher is a "bad teacher." Rather than take personal responsibility for thier poor performance, they blame the teacher...
So, the
Conspiracy between students and teachers is "You don't push us to hard and we won't complain to much." It's a simple
Conspiracy but it's a fact. I've seen it.
I would recommend home teaching. In addition to home teaching, I would recommend social activities for your child such as church activities, girl and boy scouts etc... If parents saw what was going on in schools between students, there would be a public outcry. But that is another story. Parents who work need to put thier kids somewhere for 8 hours a day, so parents don't complain to much, but that's just another theory of mine...
take care
