It's a good thing you FEEL your dream is significant because these dreams that FEEL significant are.

A few things come to mind along with your hunch about 'getting to the root of something in a pain free manner.

Another thing is that the legs are representative of what carries you around in life, your legs may be a symbol of both stability and structure and also of movement. Sometimes when you pull a plant by the roots you may mean to uproot it and yet plant in another location. If you are looking for new horizons perhaps you may find opportunity to uproot and relocate or transplant elsewhere. Do you have dreams of making a long journey (long leaves?) hmmmmmm....

It seems that because this was pain free and you were not upset that you may take an attitude that you may have stablity wherever you are in life even when uprooted or in far away places. To a plant home is where it's roots are. The roots are attached by default. For us home is the same, it is wherever we are in life.
