Re: Let's get oiled (beyond soap)
Hi, B2, thanks! :)
I have used castille soap(Dr. Bronners) on my body for years. I dilute it & it lasts forever. Castille soap does contain saponified oils:
"Saponification is the chemical process where oils and alkali (sodium hydroxide) bind to create soap. The saponification process creates soap and a high amount of glycerin. Mountain Sky Soaps retain the glycerin in the soap."

Udo sez "only use soap on the hairy parts". :)
My personal opinion is that castille soap is superior to bar soaps. Since it retains it's liquid form, my GUESS is that the amount of lye used is nowhere near that of bar soaps. I am NOT a chemist or an expert by any means, I do invite correction on this. Glycerin is a humectant(brings moisture to the surface). HowEVER, I do recall Imalurnin posting stuff on the negative aspects of glycerin, I hope that she reads this and comments. What exactly is the the point of use of glycerin combined with the moisture-stripping properties of lye? I dunno!
I say, let's keep our use of soap to an absolute mininum, and stay well-oiled, inside & out:)
Keep glowing, glowy-girl! I glow too:)(read my profile, and it's quite obvious in my choice of avatar:))
