Re: What cleanse to start with? (I'm diabetic)
Hi Lisa,
Diet and exercise are critical with the issues at hand and a good clease a few times a year would also be a smart decision.
Diabetes is a terrible illness that can wreak havoc on your life. The New England Journal of Medicine actually published that type two diabetes can be "cured" by following these simple guidelines:
Increase your fiber.
Decrease your weight or maintain your ideal weight.
Decrease your fat intake, including saturated
Exercise on a regular basis
Restrict the intake of refined sugars, grains and starches.
Diet and exercise are very important and critical for your health. I would suggest that you get yourself on a realistic schedule that will work for you.
I know all to well what it's like to be a busy mom. You never seem to be able to find time for yourself and when you do it doesn't last long. You must prioritize your health and well being as your life depends on it.
Exercise everyday! You can actually control your blood sugar with an intense workout at least 5 times a week. Whether you go to the gym or you're at home get yourself into a routine that you can stick with.
Don't set unrealistic goals for yourself. Start out with 5 or 10 minutes and work your way up. Don't feel bad or give up if you skip a day. Negative thoughts will just bring you down and lead you to failing. Keep a positive outlook and always look to the brightside. You may be thinking yeah yeah I've heard this before but it doesn't work! It does... the big secret is persistance! If you stick with even a half hearted routine to begin with and you consistantly set higher goals for yourself it will pay off.
Keep in mind that even being 10 pounds over weight can increase your chances of diabetes! You're better off to be a little underweight than a little over weight. It puts stress on your body that can lead to a variety of unhealthy conditions, like the ones we are discussing here.
Raw veggies and salads(dressings with vinegar are best) need to make up your diet on a regular basis (add protein as you like). It's the cookies and junk food that really need to eliminated. I know this sounds hard but there are great recipes out there that will satisfy your cravings and get rid of that feeling of being "left out, punished or cheated". It's really easy to talk about but hard to do. So much of our lives revolve around food; the holidays, vacations, get togethers,etc... The best way to get around the desire to indulge in the "forbidden foods" is to learn what you can eat and seek out healthy recipes for guidance and ideas and enjoy them.
The depression issues will also improve with this advice. Exercise has been proven to significantly reduce anger, depression, tension and fatigue. While at the same time the lack of it (along with a bad diet) can contribute to your depression and various other symptoms that can cause all kinds of turmoil in your life. Exercise is really a wonderful thing, it helps to keep you young and healthy both mentally and physically. Yoga is a wonderful combination of physical and mental exercise. Remember that medications are just band-aids, not cures.
As for the candida, you may very well have issues with it. It can be a contributing factor to your allergies, diabetes, and depression. Again diet and exercise are critical. Mood swings, depression, PMS... blood sugar fluctuations can be the leading cause of irritability, food cravings and headaches. One feeds the other and the vicious cycle begins causing you a variety of conditions and symptoms and the list will keep going.....your sex life can be affected, sleeping issues, backaches and thyroid just to name a few. Unfortunatley having children, stress and age all have a voice in this too.
As for products and what type of program I recommend, order our 30 day program and do it for three months(ideally). It was formulated to fit into a busy lifestyle so you won't have any discomfort. We do not have any stimulants in the fiber so you don't have to worry about it being harsh. We have a seperate product for those who need or prefer senna or cascara during a cleanse. If you feel that you need such a product it's available but I would start out with the standard program and take it from there. Remember, you don't have to go through a harsh cleanse to get results. A gentle cleanse (if formulated right) will give you the same great results without all the drama or unnecessary strain on the body. I would continue with a product like our Maintain for the added fiber and to help eliminate metabolic toxins between cleansing. If not ours look for a good fiber formula that's sugar free with herbs such as; marshmallow root, ginger, hydrangea and a probiotic. This will give your body a healthy boost everyday and support your diet and exercise program.
Our program comes with:
Clear- a fiber drink that contains the lubricants and cleansers to promote a gentle cleanse.
Enhance- a super green formula(chlorella) - for heavy metal detox and an awesome super food. We sell a lot of this!
Revive- a wonderful bath salt, that I personally formultated! (We use Redmond Sea Salt which is an all natural salt, very popular and very healthy. (a better choice than traditional table salt- a must for your health) Revive is an orgainic blend of essential oils that will assist in drawing out toxins during your cleanse. It would also be a nice way to relax for a bit after you excercise.
Purify- an anti-parasitical that is a must for any good cleanse. Not harsh but effective. If you have pets, drink water, eat veggies that aren't properly cleaned, walk barefooted.....you get my point, we are all subjected to good and bad parasties everyday. A good cleanse to keep the harmful ones from causing health problems is a smart idea. Remember that ego is one of the best friends of parasites - thinking it could never happen to me or I don't live in a third world country they aren't around me. Parasites don't discrimminate, rich or poor, young or old they don't care.
Cleanse- this is an organ cleanser that focuses on the liver, kidneys and blood.
All of these products are made to work together. A complete system that will gently and effectively cleanse your body without having to sacrifice your daily lifestyle. We have a few more products than other companies, we address the skin(the largest organ of the body) and heavy metal detox which are both critical to a complete cleanse.....Take advantage of starting the cleanse by making it the begining of your "new life" implement healthy diet alternatives and of course exercise.
You really don't need to prepare. Just use common sense and you should be fine.
Colonics are for those that prefer the addition of irrigation to thier cleanse. Keep in mind that you must prepare your body, especially the colon, for a good thorough cleanse otherwise you're just cleaning out the end of the colon which you would do on your own anyway. You must follow a program like Dr Jensen's Guide to Better Bowel Care, available at most book stores, to loosen putrefied waste from your intestinal walls this takes dedication and time, otherwise your wasting your money and any reputable colonic center should tell you this. It's not as easy as spending 30 minutes on a table and it's all gone, if it was that easy everyone would be doing it.
The cleanses that you buy at the markets are generally misleading, total programs that address the total body and it's various organs are not common in most markets and most of the time it's a gamble on whether or not you'll get good advice from a sale clerk.... Yes, it can be confusing. The Curezone is a great place to learn about what's out there and what works. Ask questions in the various forums and do what you feel most comfortable with.
