Plantar Fasciitis from rebounding

Last summer I did daily rebounding, about 15 minutes a day. I developed a terrible heel pain, that my doctor diagnosed as plantar fasciitis. I admit that I rebounded without shoes on. He told me to stop the rebounding to heel the fasciitis. I stopped, and after a few months, the pain finally went away. Well, now I want to start back up again, this time wearing shoes. But the pain came right back!

Am I doing it wrong? I had a whole routine on it, kinda like step aerobics, but with the rebounder instead of the step. Should I just gently bounce up and down without my feet leaving the fabric? I am ready to through the thing away.
