Re: also...

When you start planting depends on where you live and whether or not what you're planting is frost tolerant. You usually plant accordsing to the last expected frost date, or there are usually local signs. When the snow melts off one of the mountains here(I forget what it's called) is when the people here usually plant. We live in a difficult, unpredictable climate. One year I started 6 kinds of tomatoes and 12 kinds of melons from seed and it frosted on June 6! It was heartbreaking!(that's when the black prince pulled through) We haven't experimented with cold hardy plants(yet) except carrots. Oh! And garlic! That needs to go in in the fall, though. You should go to your local nursery, not a Home Depot or anything like that...an independent nursery, and ask questions. The local nurseries will know what does well in your area, the big chains will sell anything anywhere, it's amazing. Our local Home Depot sells Fuschias(we're high desert, it FREEZES here!)

Also, if you buy seeds via the internet, try to get them from a place that is in the same growing zone as you are, a local source would be even better.

I need a wheatgrass juicer, I guess. What kind is the best? We have a champion so I guess we just need one for wheatgrass. That sounds like fun:)

Make sure you get your Llewllen's Moon Signs book...:)

Oh! BTW, purslane CAN be invasive. We've been moving the garden every year so that hasn't been an issue for us, but I've heard that it can be hard to get rid of. Why would anyone want to get rid of it, I wonder? I just don't want to recommend something that might be troublesome for you.
