purslane has a sweet/tart flavor, it's VERY juicy...got the seeds as a freebie from Thompson& Morgan, along with some poisonous flowers(monkshood), whoever was packing orders had a strange sense of humor(HMMM...weeds & poison). The purslane was an unexpected treat, the monkshood never germinated:)

BTW, most herbs are easy growers..I've grown mostly culinary...

& yeah, squash DO take up a lot of space, but I'll bet that there are cultivars that don't. We tried a zuchinni called "Rampicante", didn't work for us, who knows why, but it is a CLIMBER rather than a sprawler, great for a fence, might be worth looking into.. :) Tweet
