Re: B1 AND B12 - high absorption

Hi Pankulsh,

No, I have not yet tried those supplements and that was possibly going to be my next step, however, the fever has increased lately and I saw the doc today and he said there are many viruses that attack nerves, not just shingles, and it may be viral. He said many strange neurological phenomena happen to people and often just go away. Certainly the feeling in my right thigh (which concerns me the most since that is where my recent problems began and also because that leg feels a bit weak when I run and that makes me worry about a progressive demyeliinisation disease process) - that is a very "flu-y" feeling in there, which in a way is more reassuring than if it was nothing but progressive numbness and weakness. I'm having blood tests for infection and other things, and he will wait & see before sending me to a specialist. I had an MRI in France, and he said it's good they didnt see any sign of MS or any other problem in my spine.

Having said all that, I'm a bit better today and I feel as if my body is really fighting something and starting to win, and that ONLY because I've started having flax & rye which is giving me strength! That is just my instinct, of course, but I think it's no accident that I feel and look a LOT better since adding these grains to my healthy diet! I need less sleep, feel less tired and my skin is softer, pinker & younger-looking, & my face looks more relaxed too.

I do think it's an interesting coincidence that myself and several other people who have been eating no-grain or raw diets, and also doing a lot of exercise, are eventually developing similar neurological symptoms after several years!

In furtehr answer to your question about B1 & B12, I was travelling until recently, and unable to obtain these supplements, so took plenty of Mg, B12 and multi-B but it m,ade me feel no better and I think NOT because of malabsorption, beacuse i was tested for B12 and it was more than adequate - so I stopped taking supplements!

fOR ME, I really think the diet was the probelm - I HOPE! - as I never had anything like this beforehand, and I come from a very healthy family wothout any history of MS etc.

Hope this helps - good luck & keep intouch!
