Re: What to Believe?
RAYNBO - I have not heard a more reasoned attitude towards this subject of aliens, good going!!
You make good points about "why would they have to do this or that". Right on!!
That negative stuff suits so many people's agendas of scaring people, the tactic of fear. We see the fear tactic used by Bush and corporations and so on all the time. I refuse to believe anything along those lines, it is just horror movie stuff - tantalising for many people, but not real.
There is an explanation of why we don't know for sure, why we do not see them, even if they have been around earth for awhile. They would be advanced more than we are, to do the travel. That would mean they would upset earthling's natural progress if they showed themnselves. A responsible alien, wanting to ensure they do not harm us, would likely stay hidden, and they would have the technology to do this, even memory erasure.
That being said, they just might talk to a few select people who would never tell. Of course, that is dangerous too, as it would create mistrust between us 'regulars' and the aliens, and between us and the earthlings they talked to. It would lead us to think they might be plotting against us.
I predict it will turn out that there are no aliens here... but the logic of infinite space tells us that there MUST be other highly intelligent life forms somewhere out there, probably on approximately the same timelines [it takes 5 billion years to develop intelligence after the big bang] as us, and of course we would seek each other out, for sure, so it will come, but since humans cannot yet do it, the aliens likely cannot either, being on the same 'big bang timeline'.
And that is logical too.... give them time, same as us, and we will have contact someday.
