Re: it's getting trendy to do the Master Cleanse! NYTimes article
Hi,
I'm kind of new to the forum, but not new to the info.
I did my first MC in June, only for 3 days. I was a coffee drinker,
and it was HELL for the entire three days. However, I've never touched
coffee again, except to smell the beans in a perfume store.
I began a new MC on Dec.29, and this time, being a non-coffee drinker,
it's been a breeze. Going into Day 6, with no danger of slipping.
The thing I find MOST hard to deal with is that many people in my life
(business people, friends. etc.) get so freaked out when they find out I'm
doing this (they see me sipping the lemonade and/or not eating, and ask).
I'm not a fat person, so they cannot understand why I would do this.
Actually I do want to shed 10 pounds, but by "normal" Amercian standards,
I'm a stick. lol
Isn't it interesting that the people who get so "worried" about what will happen
to you on a MC, are usually the fattest, unhealthiest looking people, with the
worst lifestyle habits imaginable?
Many think I'm lying when I say that my health care provider suggested this cleanse.
(Not my "sick care provider".....that would be the normal MD they use, probably.)
My MD is very progressive; think Suzanne Somers type doc.......and she does it herself.
So........any suggestions on how to deal with unhealthy people who have an opinion
about this and obvioulsy know nothing about it?
Oh, and yes, Beyonce did not do a "cleanse", she just did a temporary "diet" and then gained
it all back. So sad.
Oh, I also wanted to ask, does anyone know a good way to keep the weight off,
after the cleanse? I was thinking maybe I'd do the lemonade during the day and have
a light healthy dinner at night, after 10-15 days of this.
Thanks!
