Regarding books, you can always take what you want and leave the rest.
What they do have in common is that once menopause hits, it actually affects all of your hormones, not just the sex hormones, which are only considered to be minor. So you need to be tested for all the major and minors including insulin, thyroid, cortisol, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA.
You feel crappy because you are out of balance somewhere in your hormones...
I would either read books or find a good doc who believes in natural hormone balancing. It would be live altering. You won't regret it.
