Re: GMO Discussion

Those are all very nice, but I was referring to real studies.  Something publishable in a peer-review journal, not just essays and concerns.  Something with real hard data.

For example:

Vet Res Commun. 2005 Aug;29 Suppl 2:7-11.
GMO: Human Health Risk Assessment
D'Agnolo G.

Internist (Berl). 2002 Jul;43(7):840-6. Links
Genetic techniques and food. Are genetically modified foods a health risk for us
Jany KD, Kiener C.

Riv Biol. 2003 Sep-Dec;96(3):363-84. Review.
Transgenic foods as a tool for malnutrition elimination and their impact on agricultural systems.
Monastra G, Rossi L.

They are all positive.

GMO crops are, as far as we know, safe.  And they do have several potential benefits.

I am not sold on them not for any safety or health concerns, but for the issues I  mentioned as well as one I forgot.  The issue of patentability - life should not be patentable.  The protocols and technology for manipulating genes YES,  Life itself.  NO.
