You would be hard pressed to prove that tobacco killed more than big pharma ever will... estimates of big pharma influenced deaths in the U.S. alone range from 100,000 (this the AMA admits) to over 250,000 a year. triple that number and you will have medical mistakes, hospital environment contracted disease and bacterial infections etc.
In addition, there are MANY people contracting cancers and respiratory diseases that are being associated with environment. Smokers of roll your own organic tobacco do not seem to have the same issues with disease as smokers of the chemically laden mainstream tobaccos.
