Since I'm here...Croup remedy

Since I am here I thought I might as well share something that happened to my 8yos.

He has had bouts of croup since he was 2. Croup can be very scary. It is not asthma, but you still can hardly breathe. Every time he would have an attack, we would spend the night in the steamy bathroom trying to concentrate on breathing until the attack subsided. It is very scary when this happens.

Since I have been learning about essential oils, I looked up in my reference book for an oil to help the croup. There were oils listed for asthma, but not croup. I decided to get an oil that supports the respiratory system. I chose a blend called R.C. It has 4 kinds of eucalyptus oils, myrtle, spruce, lavender, and a few others.
Last week before bed, my son started having that barking cough that is a signal that it will be a long night. I got out my R.C. having never tried it on, him but hoping for the best. I rubbed it with some massage oil on his back and his chest. I also rubbed a blend called Thieves on his chest. I put R.C. in the diffuser and went back in about 10 minutes to check on him. I could not believe it but he and his little sister were asleep. That was a miracle in itself:) I rubbed another blend of oil on his feet and left the diffuser on. I went back in about 30 minutes and checked on him. Still asleep. I turned off the diffuser. I went to bed but did not sleep well because I was listening out for the barking cough. It never came! I finally fell asleep. He, on the other hand had a good night's sleep. He woke in the morning with the cough, but not the full blown attack. I rubbed more oils on him and in about an hour, he said he thought the oils just might be working:)

That was such a miracle to me. You would just have to experience the croup to know how scary it is when your child is fighting for every breath and his lips are beginning to turn blue. I hope to never be without these blends of oils.
