I don't know if you all are interested in acupuncture and its principles at all; an acupunturist named Giovanni Maciocia has done a lot in this area, and has an illustrated guide to various conditions of the tongue:
What's most confusing to me is how different paradigms for understanding the body's function all seem to "work" at least some of the time. The question I've had lingering in the back of my mind for a long time is this: how can Chinese acupuncture points and Korean acupuncture points *both* work, since there are points that overlap (in the hand) and appear to contradict? But from anecdotal evidence, they both have a good measure of success. I'm not expecting any answers, but it's just one of weird things.
