Re: Monitor turning solid white

Hi sapphire7

Things that may be worth a try :)

If you are using a power strip, plug the computer and monitor directly in a wall socket to see if your power strip is going bad.

I buy all my computers at dell.com and never had a problem, but I love their prices :D

Seems you are not the only HP user with that problem!

Why does my monitor go white and my PC freezes?

Maybe 1 or2 times a week my pc freezes and my monitor usually goes white or it has little tiny vertical lines.I bought my PC a year ago its an HP 1132a, and I had the same problem, first theyreplaced the monitor and it still did it then they replaced the tower, same thing and then they replaced both and it did it again. When I took it back into staples for the 3rd time they left it on for a week and it didnt do it there, however they werent connected to the net so I think maybe that has something to do with it.Anyhow when it does this I have to do a cold boot. IT has happened quite often when we are playing games online. Any suggestions? Oh yea the monitor is a flat panel hp f1905 we upgraded when we purchased if that is any help. Thanks
