To me, this mixing is quite intuitive on your part. To me, the inner child and the concepts Barbara portrays in her book are inseperable. (and let me say I have not gone through the whole book and processes)

It is the joyous passions of the inner child that is some, if not all, of our core essence, I believe. In that, I believe, as already stated, is part of our true 'purpose' and will bring us joy, peace and abundance.

And Barbara's techniques help us remove all the clutter that is preventing that inner child from experiencing its passion.

Tricky thing can be all the ideas we have about this 'purpose', all the beliefs that can get in the way. I am reminded of a story in which a lady's purpose was not to be found or so much expressed in a specific career (altho her career did match her spirit) but moreso in how she lived her life, was a friend to others and other activities she did in her life. She realized that she was different in that she didn't need to experience a dramatic shift in occupation, she was already 'being' who she is. And so she accepted her gifts even more.

And then sometimes maybe we have such seemingly etheric passions that it feels challenging to express...I know many that pass through curezone can relate. Once we get to know ourselves better, we find we have more extraordinary passions than the ordinary. We don't resonate to the 'become an accountant, doctor or business person' area (altho we still tried and it took me several years to figure that one out for myself. I'm still transitioning).

It can seem so challenging when we have passions of spirituality, imagination, art, self-healing, healing, helping others, peace, etc. How do these fit into such a structured, materially based culture?

These too are not to be discounted, any more than the lady who wanted to be a singer/dancer but didn't know how!

I too love the optimism because in fact, it is true, our wildest dreams can come true, we only need to encourage ourselves to dig up those dreams and nourish them to blossom again!
