i think they have totally missed the point

they think jesus wants them to build religious empires replete with mega sanctuaries filled with projection screen TV's and thousands of parishioners in multi million dollar facilities etc. nope. he told us to feed the hungry, clothe then naked, give drink to the thirsty, etc. i think they have completley missed the essential message of Christ.

i saw a short documentary on haggards church shot before this whole story broke. that church is awash in money, i mean milions and millions of dollars. which is fine, but what are you doing with it? and what good does all that do haggard now? if he had spent that money truly helping people i think lots of people would have been falling all over themselves to forgive him.

when you shame others you also shame yourself, and he was being crushed by shame. i am sure he lived a private hell. Tweet
