My Cat Is Overgrooming...Help!
Hello All,
I have a female begal cat who seems to have developed a penchant for overgrooming. This started a year ago. I took her to the vet and the vet said no health problems,
parasites or mites. She suggested it may be allergies, but the vet food was awful and Samantha wouldn't eat it. She is very tiny at 6
pounds and can't be without food in my opinion. I changed her diet to Wellness Brand Cat food and this is all human grade. I'll list the ingeredients...okay looked at the can it will take me an hour to type, but the first are:
human grade sardines, chicken, fish broth, shrimp, crabmeat, sweet potatoes, carrots, guar gum, ground flaxseed, ground alfalfa, cranberries, blueberries, squash, zucchini...the vitamins are:chelated iron, chelated cobalt, thiamin, copper proteinate, folic acid, chelated manganese, niacin, d-calcium pantothenate, vitamin d3 supplementriboflavin, vitamin A supp., vitamin b12 supp., potassium iodide, biotin...there are a few more things but this is the gist of it.
She started removing hair off her belly. sHe made it bald...the hair grew back and now she is removing the hair off the inside of her back legs. The skin is clear, no scabs or redness or discoloration. I think she may just be a little neurotic, and I am wondering if there is something I can give her to ease this. Sorry for the lengthy post, I just wanted to give you all the info.
Thanks
Leanna
