Re: Sneaking Out of the Shadows of CZ

Thanks Molly...I am glad to be here. It sure gives me the true definition of support. That was kind of you to say I sound like you - I am sure that is why I, and others, concentrate in a forum like this; real poeople, real issues, some resolved and some in process. Put that together with compassion and advice and the next thing you know, you made yourself a family environment.

Speaking of which, I do hope the foot detox works well for you. I have read interesting articles on the foot and the role it plays in far more than getting us from one place to the other.

As for a return trip to the dentist; NO. Sorry I do not have a return trip testimonial. I have no reason to return or take his advice to visit his referred Pariodontist. At the time, I got what I wanted from him - something to kill the pain. Better yet, I walked away with my teeth intact. I was actually expecting, and almost hoping, something would be extracted to stop the pain right then and there. I am much happier that was not the case.

I selected the dentist office solely for immediate need, location and dental plan coverage. This was a dental group and I got the leading dentist within the group that night, as they held late office hours for emergencies such as mine. Although he struck me as a snake oil salesman, he did take the time to go over the x-rays and explain there was no cavities to be concerned about, just receding gums and possible low to mid pario.

As for where I am now, I originally went to the dentist for pains in the lower right teeth. Again, I got Antibiotics for the infection and motrin 800 for the pain. I was a happy little camper walking around with no pain and hoping the anibiotics would get rid of any infections. I kept the pain at bay and when the Antibiotics and Motrin were gone, I was okay for a few days. Coincidentally, as I became concerned about the future of my teeth and returned to CZ to see what I could do on my own, I developed pains in the upper left area of my teeth. Pain from the right teeth and gums has not returned.

Again, I outfitted myself with a few other things outside of OPing, such as the Waterpick, Sonicare, procedures on saveyoursmile.com, and more daily water than you will find in a fire truck, but not until I began OP did I feel and see improvements. Although I still have some minor pain remaining, it wanes every day. I know that people will gasp, but I am a sissy...if it hurts too much, I will pop a couple Advil. That need is just about gone. Today will actually be my 6th day of pulling and as far as I am concerned, it took me 4 decades to get my teeth and gums to the poor condition they are now. Seeing improvement such as I have in 6 short days should rate as phenominal in anyone's book.

Although you could not tell from the outside, I was pretty damned lax on oral health care, which came back to bite me in the gums. Receding gums aside, becuase of the OP at the very least, I have a much cleaner mouth and whiter teeth, which makes me smile and laugh more, giving me a much better disposition. I wonder how much time I have added to my life just by smiling more and being happier?

Thank you for your support and your welcome here. I look forward to being active and contributing when I can, even if off topic a time or two. Glad to hear that no one is watching us. Actually reminds me of what my father said to me as a kid..."You know, son, you aren't paranoid if someone really is following you". He's my role model - 76 years old, looks 50 and just remarried...and my new "mommy" is on 3 years older than me. I want to live a long, healthy life too!!!!

...Opus
