I really enjoy what I think they ended up calling the Zone Diet. It was originally the 40-30-30...
When you break it is very easy to continue eating clean and light, if you are motivated in that direction.
Post-fast I like to have fresh fruit and natural yogurt for breakfast, whizzed as a smoothie sometimes... green salad with lots of veggies for lunch, and the same vegetarian vegetable soup we break on for dinner. I have used this same diet as a pre-cleanse on several occasions, one week to a month prior to fasting. Once digestion comes back on line I add small amounts of clean protein (fresh fish, chicken breast), beans and whole grains, nuts and seeds. Of course you want to eat good oils like ex virg olive, cold pressed flax, walnut etc.
You can slowly incorporate other foods, even red meat in small amounts occasionally... and even have an occasional treat. I think the main objective should be to eat the right stuff MOST of the time!
