the playa...

Ahhhhh yes...the playa!! The beaches here are amazing....each one totally different - different rock formations, sand colours, sand-size....but they all really have one thing in common - the waves wild and dynamic and powerful. None of this muy tranquillo calm energy...nope!

I remember when I first got here in January of 2005 and I was staying for 2 months out of town on a secluded beach....I felt like the energy here, so dynamic, was breaking down all old structures, limitations, forcefully purifying me....and then filling me up with strength and new power. Turns out that the beach I lived by and went to every day, where I really felt this happening, was a very important beach (big boulders to lie on, and little natural pools around the boulders to float around in) to the local natives back in the day. Something about sending their dead off (???)...which makes sense with the whole Transformation/death/rebirth feeling I was getting!
