Re: How do I disinfect my apartment?

along with mh's great recommendations I would
vacumn vacumn vacumn
wash everything in 2 ounces of clorox bleach per washer load
put clorox bleach in a spray bottle and use it to clean corners, countertops and surfaces.
paint any old or damaged surfaces and walls with a latex paint
wash rug with clorox bleach
throw away old stuffed animals junk cloth and clutter
wash hands every time you come home after being outdoors and before eating or handling foods
deworm any house pet monthly with medicine from vet supply and make sure any indoor pet has heavy duty flea and bug protection, they sell invisible collars for pets online to use monthly
do not wear street shoes inside house, leave street shoes in a hallway or doorway, wear indoor slippers inside house.
shower daily or take a steam or hot bath daily to keep populations on skin down.
do not wear outside street clothes in bedroom or home, throw clothes in washer with 2 ounces clorox bleach and hot water when you walk indoors and dry everything for 70 minutes on hot. Wear indoor only clothes indoors.
buy new inexpensive pillows every month (6.88 at walmart) or buy washable anti allergen or plastic pillowcase covers (1.50) and a plastic mattress protector for your matress and box spring.
clean out your car and have interior car cleaned and vacumed thoroughly on a regular basis
vacumn vacumn vacumn
It will take time but after you use mhs recommendations and really disinfect yourself, your environment and any pets, the bug population will go down and by constant vigilence and simple daily habit changes, new colonies will not get a chance to develope. The bugs will look for a more hospitable environment to establish new population numbers and colonies.
Many parasites get tracked in from outdoors on shoes when we step in infected animal waste that carry the infectious tapeworm eggs and larval 1 and larval 2 stages and track this inside.. or from outdoor clothes which pick up and carry mites, lice, and other microscopic bugs, eggs and larva, wash and clean bags, briefcases, purses etc. My chinese neighbors never wear street shoes inside thier home and any guest must leave shoes in outside hall area.
