Re: Where is the support? RIGHT HERE

I am sorry, I think health care should be free for everyone. A government has a responsibility for its people and their health. However, a gastric bypass is very risky!
Although you say that your job is physical, it might not be as physical as you need or think. How many women do housework everyday cleaning and scrubbing carrying loads of laundry and lugging their children everywhere? Being a homemaker is physical work! but at the same time a lot of homemakers are obese. Unfortunatley they arent doing the type of exercise that will help them lose weight and gain health. And eating habits have a lot to do with it as well.

I have always wanted a tredmill too but at the same time I wonder if it would become a really expensive clothes hanger! Walking outdoors is wonderful. I know getting over the thought of people watching you and judging you is hard but believe me, people will really respect you for trying to help yourself and you will probably inspire passers by!

I know buying fresh fruits and veg from the grocers is expensive, but you can search out some wholesalers in your city and buy fruits and veg from them in bulk! My friends and I have started our own co-op. Every two weeks we meet at the whole saler and buy boxes of fruits and veg, even eggs and low fat cheese. By the end we get loads of apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, melons, tomatoes, cucumbers, cauliflower, zuchinni, potatoes, onions etc for about 60$ each (Canadian of course, probably way cheaper for americans) Even if you went by yourself you might get a box of oranges, and a box of lettuce for about 30$. Check it out.

It is so easy to gain weight and so hard to lose it and so easy to just give up. Its a long and sometimes emotionally painful journey to health. I dont know what resources are available to you in the US but take advantage of what you can like doctors advice or dieticians. There is so much information out there about dieting and weightloss but beware! Dont even bother trying such diets that will restrict you to a certain type of food or eliminate a whole catagory of other foods. Although you might lose the weight at first and it may seem encouaging after losing a bit of weight you will be tempted to 'cheat', eating the 'forbidden' foods, thinking that if you start to gain a bit of weight back you can just go back on the diet again and the weight will come off like it did the first time. This is not productive nor healthy. You will not train yourself on healthy eating this way.

There is losts of information on healthy eating on the internet. Look up the diabetes assiciation, they give out free info and the diet is one of the healthiest and easiest to follow. You may not have diabetes now but obese people are prime candidates for this disease.
Look up the three hour diet. It is very similar to the diabetic diet.è

Walking is free. You dont need 100$ running shoes to do it. Wear what you got.

Exercising in your home is free too. March in place for a few minutes while making arm circles. Alternate that with other aerobic type exercises that you can do in your home. Its FREE ( I love FREE)

losing weight is a journey doesnt come easily but it does come to those that are persistant. You have support here!
