Jane, I don't think that the scenarios you posted are common. I'd be willing to guess, with absolutely nothing to back this up, mind you, that in most cases the men are relieved that the woman "got rid" of the problem.
This is my point. Men lack much of those pre-birth instincts that women have. The only time they seem to be aware of their fatherhood, is when they are presented with a living breathing human baby! I saw so many lost looking, clueless men in Lamaze, including my lovely husband, who is an awesome father. Should I have asked him if he wanted me to have the baby, and then I would leave, I'm 99% sure he would have said no.
I wish there were reliable statistics out there on the male portion of the abortion scenario. I bet anything I'd be proven right.
