Re: ringworm or eczema? or granuloma annulare?
Hello Peter,
Eczema is the general term for many types of dermatitis (skin inflammation). Eczema signals a need to address your immune health. Therefore, irregardless of the name of the particular eczema, your immune health will need to be addressed.
These are a few of the types of eczema. Allergic contact eczema (or allergic contact dermatitis) is defined as "a red, itchy, weepy reaction where the skin has come into contact with a substance that the immune system recognizes as foreign, such as poison ivy or certain
preservatives in creams and lotions". Contact eczema (or contact dermatitis) is defined as "a localized reaction that includes redness, itching, and burning where the skin has come into contact with an allergen (an allergy causing substance) or with an irritant such as an acid, a cleaning agent, or other chemical". Nummular eczema (or nummular dermatitis) is defined as "coin-shaped patches of irritated skin-most commonly on the arms, back, buttocks, and lower legs that may be crusted, scaling, and extremely itchy". Neurodermatitis is defined as "scaly patches of skin on the head, lower legs, wrists, or forearms caused by a localized itch (such as an insect bite) that becomes intesely irritated when scratched". Dyshidrotic eczema (or dyshidrotic dermatitis) is defined as "irritation of the skin on the palms of hands and soles of feet, characterized by clear, deep blisters that itch and burn".
In each of these cases there is an instigating factor that brings about the flareups. You noticed this skin inflammation (dermatitis) two years ago with a localized reaction starting on the side of your foot. Recalling or remembering a specific detail of what may have instigated that flareup is important in the healing process. Identifying what produced your skin's reaction helps to ensure that the known culprit of the flareup will not continue to be a hindrance to the healing process; due to the fact that the culprit is clearly identified (and as a result removed from your environment).
In addition to identification of the source of the skin irritation, addressing the internal immune health will be a common thread in the treatments of all of these types of dermatitis or eczema. This will be an essential component in your healing process. In your case especially and to address your immune health, I strongly recommend that you incorporate an internal cleanse. In particular, a
parasite cleanse. Your hypothesis regarding the ringworm is probably accurate; and as a result, a
parasite cleanse is definitely needed. I personally recommend a 3-part internal cleanse system that incorporates a liver, bowel, kidney flush along with the
parasite removal formula. The name of the system is the All Natural Internal Cleanse by Nature's Medicine. You can check out this system at the allnaturalcleanse.com website. Especially for the novice of internal cleansing or detoxing, this system is particularly a good intro into that experience.
The symptoms that your skin is manifesting is a warning system (like a smoke alarm in a building) sent to message to you the need to address your immune health and to identify the toxic agent that has or is affecting your body. The goal is not to suppress the symptom (coverup the symptom with medications); but instead, to understand the message the symptom is sending so that you can address that message (warning for help) by responding in a way that will produce healing, which will rid the body of the symptom.
Cleansing your body of the toxins that are infecting, affecting, and effecting your skin and replenishing the nourishment that your organs, cells, and immune system need to function properly will restore a healthy balance to your immune system and produce the healing you desire. The cure for eczema is a healthy functioning immune system. You can restore the health and balance to your immune system through proper nutrition. To help you in that regard, you can visit the wholehealthmd.com website and take a look at the "healing eczema through what you eat section". Especially for those who don't have the luxury of access to (or cannot afford the cost of regular consultation with) a good nutritionist, the information at that site becomes a good resource tool.
I hope this has helped,
aunty
