What does it mean "organic" ?

>"Where does E. coli O157: H7 come from?

thank you. I'm well aware from where E. Coli comes.

>This fact coupled with the fact that many other things such as >growth hormones, Antibiotics etc. are injected in to animals >makes being a vegetarian even more appealing to me.

I'm not disputing any of this. I'm wondering why you think fruits and vegetables are "safe" after only a washing and that they can't be just as contaminiated from the inside(although from different chemicals of course).

>As I recall, in one instance, the problem with the apples was >brought about by an apple grower that sold apples to a juice >maker. These apples had been laying on the ground that was also >used by farm animals. I am sure there must be other instances of >ecoli from fruit and vegetables, but the odds are with me.

Oh? The odds are with you? Seems like the last few times I've heard of E. Coli poisoning on TV (so it must be true) it didnt' have anything to do with ingesting meat. Although contact with meat was certainly a factor.

>The object of my post was to show that the so called protections >for meat eaters are being undermined by the courts and other >government agencies.

No argument from me. But I do think that you have lulled yourself into a false sense of security by thinking that the protections on non meat are any better.
What do you know about the chemistry of pesticides and contaminants in "organic" fertilizers?

>But hey, everybody gets to pick their own poisons. If you want to >eat meat, go for it. I could care less.

Wrong.... you couldn't care less. If you could care less... by how much? This is my point. You seem to have a predilection for saying something different than you mean.
But I do agree. If you wish to remain ignorant about the dangers of so called "organic" fertilizers and pesticides that take more than a quick rinse.... I couldn't care less. I suppose since VX is organic it's safe to be around.
Sorry to bother you.
