I have done extensive fasting over the past three years for colon cleansing purposes. I have done very long MCs (30 and 48 days)... last summer I went to day 48 on
Master-Cleanse when the lemonade finally let me down, then switched to juices, which supported me beautifully on to day 60!
This summer I am doing a series of ten day fasts with cleansing diet between, as opposed to one longie. For whatever reason, the lemonade has just not done it for me this summer. Previously I have enjoyed the lemonade, right up to the time it didn't do the trick for me anymore last summer. I did two tens on lemonade, each time swearing if the lemonade didn't pick me up better I would switch to juices, then last ten (third in the series) I finally switched on day 7, and DID get the lift I needed!
And of course the variety is nice.
I love the MC. It is SO convenient, easy and relatively inexpensive (compared to shopping fresh produce every other day and
juicing fresh). However, you do need full support on a fast of any duration, and juices do it! I work out every day I fast, and take 1 T. BLACKSTRAP molasses in a cup of hot water before going to the gym, in addition to juices, lots of water and herb teas.
Remember, daily intake should be between 3-6 cups. DO continue doing a colon cleansing routine. Feel free to substitute a plain
water enema at any time for the tea/swf it is more convenient.
