Re: Breakouts bad on only one side of face - why??
The tomatoes could be pushing up your vitamin C a bit, but calcium can help balance that. I mentioned the juices because they can raise your vitamin C levels, especially fresh squeezed. And you may want to double your zinc(I believe you said you were taking 50mg?), temporarily. I remember that you had run out of the C recently. Without an alkalizer like calcium it will be hard to shift the acid balance, but I know that you are planning to add that, so you will likely see results then. Check out acu-cell.com. It can tell you a lot about several vitamins and minerals. But, you need to be sure to apply it to your own situation, you may be just the opposite of whatever issue is being described. I was, especially with copper.
Also, watch out for other sources of
citric acid . It is often used as a 'natural' preservative in many canned/jarred foods and I've even reacted to moisturizer with vitamin C.
I was like you, with many
Acne lesions on my left side. After I realized that C and
citric acid aggravated the problem, I thought I was allergic to citrus fruits and tomatoes. But after I got my calcium, zinc and copper up, I stopped having the painful blemishes unless I overdid a citrus fruit/tomato food. Even then, if I knew I was overdoing it, I would supplement some extra calcium, and prevent a skin reaction.
I hope some of this helps. I know it is very frustrating, especially the blemishes they leave behind. But for me, the zinc has helped a lot with helping my skin fade the spots, and a little E on the spot helps some too.
