Hi roan21! Remember your truth does not diminish Mercola's truth! I can understand the craving for grains, I was raised on them myself. But are feelings of nourishment the same as nourishment? Gram for gram i don't believe the nutritional value is that high for grains as compared to other whole foods, might they be high protein meat dairy poultry etc. or the high vitamin and mineral contain of vegetables and certain fruits. I believe the fermentating of grains to be a beneficial value for their probiotic aspects, but so does apple cider vinegar. Again I miss grains for their convenience and their sweet chewy taste and full feeling that may accompany their consumption. However I feel that grains were at first survival foods because of their long storage life but I also imagine them to be the first junk foods.
