Re: flushing mechanism
As Andreas has described in his book Amazing Liver Cleanse, only those liver stones which are close to the main bile ducts will be released in a given cleansing session. The liver has no muscle tissue, and moves the stones along through the ducts only by the force of backpressure from new bile, combined with physical massage by the diaphragm. Stimulus from the cleansing drink does not by itself move the liver stones along, it only makes the gallbladder contract and relax. (Maybe it signals the liver to produce more bile, too?) The gallbladder does not suck, it can only squirt and relax. It cannot apply vacuum to the liver because its muscles are only for squeezing out not sucking in. It relaxes and allows more bile from liver to enter. Adding more oil to the drink only prolongs the time in which the intestine is releasing CCK, the hormone which signals gallbladder to contract and the appetite to be satisfied. Adding too much oil can make you very sick, because once the gallbladder is empty and there is no more bile, the still undigested oil will persist in the stomach and cause nausea until you gak it up or the liver makes enough bile to process it.
This is why Andreas suggests we only eat water, fruit juice, fruit and light meals until following the cleanse so that the liver has a chance to refill the gallbladder with bile.
Deep breathing helps release more stones from the liver, at least in my experience. It makes me feel better anyway! I think this is due to the massaging it does on the liver during the cleanse. The muscle contacts the liver directly and is a large strong muscle. Maybe 'pushing' in pulses might help to move stones too, especially with epsom in there.
