Re: Are soy products good or bad?

I personally do not know...
I just started avoiding it/ even though I am mostly vegan
/non dairy etc/ because we tried to use it as a milk substitute and all of us here just hated the taste and texture.
you can make homemade/ coconut milk/almond milk/oatmeal milk etc. and even amke your own olive oil mayonaise for those that like a bit of mayo but want a good oil.(we rarely use mayo.. but at least have a recipe veyr easy to make )
my 2 cents on it? Idon't feel aneed for it/ there is a lot of controversy on it/ I can ge tmy oil and protein needs from areas that I know for a fact are good for me and that I like..
so I figure why bother to use it at all?
only thing i ever relaly used onit was a vegan soy patty
abotu once a month and that wasn't anythign tha tbothered me to give up/ when i can make better food anyhow *smile*
I was watching tv last night ont eh Baycol product and how they knew for years it was linked to heart valve deteriorations and deaths related to that for years and notices were sen tto the FDA for up to 2 years yet they did nothing/ til 3 people had a public mews conference on teh lack of attention given (it was 3 docs btw )
Only then did the fda step in and order a recall.
so form wherei stand I honestly dont' know who to beieve/except the coomon folks who seem to say they ahve had
large numbers of problems with it..
anyhow * smile*
my 2 cents worth
Ami B.
