My doctor says the same thing. Although she can't explain why it goes dormant for years (30 years the first time), and (1 year the second time) except to say it went on a "honeymoon".

This last time along with the UC, I had a mouth full of canker sores that hit at the same time. The first time in my life I ever remember having canker sores. I had been trying to detox Mercury from my system, and I think I dregged up some virus along with the mercury that had been dormant. Logic tells me that the body wouldn't need to "fight itself" if there wasn't a virus, or pathogen etc. causing the problem.

The time before the last when it showed up, I was seeing a homepathic healer who was giving me homeopatic remedies for mercury detox along with parasites. Again, I think I uncovered something that was dormant in the tissues, or organs that started it. Having HMO insurance, I have little hope of anything from them but drugs and more drugs.
