Hi, I took your suggestion and replaced the 100 pf capacitor with a 1000 pf capacitor, now it is about 2300 Hz instead of 23 kHz. I zapped with it about 4 times, timing it approximately like I usually do (not a good idea I know) and it seems to be perhaps a stronger effect. But I'm not so sure I'm unbiased now, I find myself wanting it to work. Hey, anything to kill my Acne faster. :)

Do you think this penetrative effect will be much more powerful against acne? If mine seems powerful enough to rule out the placebo effect, I will recommend the new frequency to the zapperplans folks.

Once you get past the protective casing it's fairly easy to swap the capacitors with a soldering iron. I re-wrapped the leads and put a rubber-band around them afterwards in place of heatshrink, so it won't yank on the solder joints if I lift it by the alligator leads. It actually looks cool, I'll have to post a pic.
