I'm with Mr Cooties (hate to call anybody that). I've gone thru so many different churches and belief systems that the whole thing is just a blur to me. He had a very legitimate question and I respect that and think he deserves to be told how you pick and choose what to swallow and what to not swallow. I don't see it as argumentative at all; why not just answer the question? Gosh; why be on a support forum if you're just gonna get insulted? So I have to answer the question AS I SEE IT; how do I pick and choose? Answer: I use my best judgment. IF they slaughtered cows and slung them on an altar why don't I do it too? I use my judgment for what is right 2,000 years after the verses were written. Many of the men who spoke the words against homosex. were supposed to have been "inspired by God." Well, my answer to that is: what would Jesus say? He'd , in my opinion, sit down with them
and discuss it if they wanted to talk about it. He'd not stone them; sure there are guys who WOULD have stoned homosex's then; now they just get AIDS and/or are depressed about it. So they need human compassion and understanding. Eating shellfish? Gee; I dunno about that. But I really believe that if Jesus were here and hungry and someone offered him a shrimp , chances are He'd eat it. But if he refused the shrimp He'd not condemn the person who ate it. Just use your good judgment and compassion. It's the people who have doubts about their beliefs who get all mad and nasty when questioned. Questions are important; they inspire me.
