Re: How do you pick and choose which verses of the bible to follow?
First, start with Exodus 20, then you can go to all four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and do what Jesus Christ commanded of you(it won't be contradictory to Exodus 20 which is the 10 commandments).
Now, once you have read and followed those verses, ask God to give you understanding of His word.
I don't see where things are open for interpretation in the Bible. People are going to always see things the way they want to see them, but the Truth is absolute. You, personally, have to ask God for discernment and understanding. Don't worry about what others are doing. If you truly and sincerely wanted to gain knowledge of Our Wonderful Creator, and you SEEK HIM, He will reveal it to you.
