Re: I wonder...??
The original questions were:
What exactly makes someone a genuine prophet of God?
How do we know if a prophet it genuine or false?
Your answer was to say that a prophet must be 100% accurate and that John "was the last one"
That was the totality of your response. No qualification.
Myself and others have proven that you erred in your terse response that John was the last prophet. You may try and qualify that now as "the last of the OT prophets", but that was not your original response to the questions.
Since then you continue to obfuscate the point by discussing Mormonism and their interpretation of a "true and living prophet", but you never deal with the orginal question or your original response, and our (myself and others) refutation of those points.
You seem (within the context of your responses) to believe that there were Old Testament Prophets, but there are NOT true prophets in this present age - admitting only that some may have the "gift" of prophecy, which clearly is refuted in Scripture.
My final position on this matter is that:
1.) Only God can appoint someone as a prophet.
2.) There are those who the LORD appoints as Prophets - even today.
3.) There are those who call themselves Prophets, but neither have been called by the LORD nor speak on His behalf - Jesus warned us of those.
4.) Anyone who claims to be speaking prophetically from the LORD must have their words examined in the light of the Scriptures.
5.) A prophecy is not just a regurgitation of past biblical prophecies, but must not contradict any other biblical prophecy either.
If we agree on these points then you have my apologies for misunderstanding your position; however, if we disagree on a point or two, then this is where the debate should center on.
