John the Beloved did indeed die after John the Baptist.
I already made a distinction between OT prophets and NT Christians with the gift of prophecy. The point, as others have also stated, is that NO ONE else has the authority to add to scripture. The prophets that wrote down the NT were not contradicting the OT or going beyond what Jesus had said. Most of the NT is filled with explanations of how Jesus fulfilled OT prophecies and how we should live as Christians. The only true NT future prophecy is the book of Revelation, and it does not contradict the OT prophecy of Daniel concerning the end times.
Private interpretation? What do you call what YOU are doing then?
Prophets who were given that gift by the Holy Spirit are in the church today. But your insistence on an overall Prophet who can contradict the written Word of God is unbiblical.
