Anyway, just another point, as I was reading through that article, again, that R2R posted:

The second man put the parachute on solely to escape the jump to come. And because of his knowledge of what would happen to him if he jumped without it, he has a deep-rooted joy and peace in his heart knowing that he’s saved from sure death. This knowledge gives him the ability to withstand the mockery of the other passengers. His attitude toward those who gave him the parachute is one of heartfelt gratitude.

You can't "sell" Jesus as fire insurance. You can't just sell Jesus because he makes this life easier. This life is a mere second in all of eternity....that article makes you realize the big picture of eternity. The real gift of Jesus Christ is not that He makes this life easier, but that He saves from spiritual death. He connects us again with our Heavenly Father, He gives our soul rest which causes us to be filled with His Peace, Love, and Joy....

This article is teaching that the gift of Christ should not just be accepted because it sounds good, but because the recipient realizes and understands exactly what Jesus Christ died for, our eternal souls. Tweet
