I've had congee quite a lot of times. It's really great! Unfortunately, it's always been white rice :-( I've never made it myself but I should try sometime. I know that people make a porridge and add a bit of oil and soy sauce, chicken, and cilantro. I know you can also add lentils or other legumes. I guess all of those would be savory, I don't know about sweet ones. I should really make a brown rice version for breakfast sometime...
