I think I'm most glad that you aren't seeking surgery for your eye condition!

It didn't hurt me reading so close but then I started at -4.5 but I think you're prescription is double my original. The next time you go in for an eye exam ask for a reduced prescription reading/computer glasses as well. If the cost of glasses are a problem there are online glass makers that can ship you a pair for ~$25.

Oh, btw, I got my older sister to start practing eye improvement. One of the first things she did was get a reduced prescription for work. She's around -9 as well. She was telling me how she took off her glasses while attending a conference and there was a powerpoint presentation on the front of the room and suddenly she could see it and was amazed! This is what is known as a clear flash and it lasts a few moments.
