Re: any candida solutions for a 90 year old lady???
I am just amazed by the great support amongst you folks on this forum! So I thought I'll pass my dilemma by you and see.
About two years ago I took my mother (then 88) to Red Paw Data to have her tested for candida and other
food sensitivities . The test results confirmed my suspicions in this regard. Her symptoms are quite similar to what mine used to be. Extreme gas build-up with lots of pain, very low energy, problems sleeping, brain fog, digestive problems, sinus problems, allergies. She even was taken to emerg twice because of shooting pain inside( trapped gas, but people thought it was a heart attack). Anyhow, with the Red Paw Data print- out I was able to convince her to do the Bentonite/ Psyllium/ Caprol treatment, and also to take digestive enzymes, a liquid lactobacillus combination, flax seed oil, and a homeopathic remedy against candida. But it is impossible to keep her on a candida diet. She is very resistant in this area. All other family members( and she maybe too)plus the family doctor have never heard of candida before, think I am crazy, and tell her at this age she should be allowed to eat what she wants. So she does! All healthy food, except not for someone with candida. Lots and lots of fresh fruit, fruit juices, veggies, carbs and protein. I am the one who takes her shopping, when she grabs all the sweet pineapple, grapes, mangoes etc. I have learned to zip up and quietly bless the fruit.
Whatever I have been giving her has helped somewhat, no more shooting pains, better digestion. But she still f..ts like a race horse, and sometimes other things sneak out with the gas. Then she is embarrased to no end. Her sleep is getting worse, so is her memory; now the Dr. suspects Alzheimer's. My hunch is that candida is one of the main issues. She sais she wants me to help her and will do anything I say...
How can my mother be helped inspite of her love for sweet fruit and juices? Nystatin? Or?
I see people on this forum talk about various things like Threelac and Hydrogen. Any suggestions???
I love my mother dearly and it pains me to see her suffer. The response from most people is to let old age take it's course. Will they have the same attitude when they are at that age???
Your ideas are most welcome.
