Hi everyone new to this forum, but have had UC since 1980
and what deburr has done I have wanted to do for a long time.
I have been researching the literature for the past 20 or so years and the above procedure is a modification of what is called Fecal Flora Replacement. Search pubmed for some abstracts.
This procedure is done by Dr. Borody in Australia, and it would normally be done by a strong bowel prep, then Antibiotics , then
the fecal infusion. One reason this procedure is not done more ofter is that finding a disease free donor may prove difficult, a young child as a donor seems safe. You do not want to give yourself some other disease.
The reason probiotics do not work is that there are at least
400 different bacterial strains in stool while only a few in any probiotic. Many people think that this procedure is gross but I can tell you it is much better than UC or having your colon removed. Mike
